Abstract

affordability of qualityhealthcare is the basic need of the population. Health care has always
been a concern in India due to large population baseand major chunk of the in rural area and
below the poverty line.The existing health care services are not enough tofulfi l the medical
needs of population.The health insurance is the solution for the population.The insurance
sector has undergone phenomenal change after the introduction of Insurance development
Regulatory Act in 1999.The Insurance sector has grown phenomenally in India since
liberalisation.
