Reforming Higher Education In The Rural Area
Higher education in India is undergoing considerable change. With more than 600 million people in India under the age of 25, the system is under enormous pressure to develop. The young population of India has a great appetite for education and, as the growth of the middle class intensifies, millions of people are increasingly able to pay for it. By 2020, India will have the largest tertiary-age population in the world 2 and the second largest pool of globally-educated talent, after China and the United States 3. The possibilities for the United Kingdom to relate to India through education are considerable.
