‘Rural Marketing’ is similar to simply ‘Marketing’ which manages to exchange relationships with rural people. The rural marketing is an integrated part of the rural development. Rural marketing has become the developing mantra of our country’s corporate world. Companies like Hindustan Lever, Colgate, Palmolive, Britannia and even multinationals like Pepsi, Coca Cola, LG and Philips are all eyeing rural markets to capture the large Indian market. The development of the nation largely depends upon the development of the rural population. Rural marketing can be defined as the flow of goods from urban sector to rural regions of the country as well as marketing of various products manufactured by non-agricultural workers from rural to urban areas. The significance of rural marketing in India is increasing as it is bringing increased revenue to the government.
